Update: April, 2007, Sister Agnes Sasagawa and Father Yasuda are still alive and well. Father Yasuda though frail will celebrate his 91st birthday in May, 2007. The statue of Our Lady that cried 101 times has not cried again since. Medjugorje USA has exclusive and rare photos of the statue and the Akita chapel and grounds around the convent. In the coming months these photos will be added to a link at the bottom of this page.
In Akita, Japan on June 12, 1973, Sister Agnes Sasagawa while in prayer witnessed rays of light proceeding from the tabernacle. The miraculous happenings to follow were such that on April 22, 1984, after an 11-year investigation, bishop John Shojiro declared the events to be of supernatural origin, with Holy See approval.
In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima told the 3 shepherd children that if men did not stop offending Her Son, the world would be punished by means of wars, famines, and persecutions of the church.
By 1932, this prophecy was well underway. Communists were in power in Russia. Mussolini was leader of Italy. Hitler was rising in Germany. The world was in depression. Unemployment, bread lines, hunger and riots were wide spread.
In a French speaking part of Belgium, lay a village called Beauraing. Sixty miles southeast of Brussels, Beauraing was mostly a farming community of about 2000 people.
93nd apparition anniversary October 13th. 2009
Below is the brief story of the Fatima apparitions, also below are two Fatima picture pages.
In the year of 1916 three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, age nine and her two cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, age eight and six respectively tended their parents flock of sheep. It was a fine spring morning for grazing sheep on Lucia's father property. The children played as the sheep feasted on the grass.
Suddenly there was a change in the weather. A steady drizzle fell and the breeze was chilling from a northwest wind. Quickly gathering the sheep they lead them to a small wooded area where they took shelter in a cave. The drizzle proved to be just a passing shower.
Garabandal is not an approved apparition of the Church. Information on Garabandal is contained on this website in hopes that the Church will establish a new commission to investigate. To view the Church's position of Garabandal click here.
San Sabastian de Garabandal is located on a mountain about a days ride from Madrid Spain. On June 18, 1961 Conchita Gonzalez (Feb. 7, 1949) Loli Mazon (May 1, 1949) Jacinta Conzalez (April 27, 1949) and Mari Cruz (June 21, 1950) experienced the first of what would be many apparitions.
Our Lady appears to six visionaries, which can see her and talk with her during regular apparitions. During some of these apparitions, Our Lady gives messages. One of most frequented topics of these messages are appeals for prayers and love.
On June 24, 1981 at around 6pm six little children went outside of Medjugorje on a little hill named Podbrdo, or locally known as Crnica.
Those children were Ivanka Ivanković, Mirjana Dragičević, Vicka Ivanković, Ivan
Dragičević, Ivan Ivanković and Milka Pavlović. While there, they saw a beautiful, young woman holding a baby in her arms. She never said anything that day, but tried to show them with her hands to come closer to her. The children got very scared and ran away, although they all thought they saw Virgin Mary.
Supernatural signs are a method God has used throughout history to know Him and to bring His children to conversion. It is a way God speaks to us or to incite our hearts to believe and come to Him. Yet, Jesus once said:
“An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.”
Yet still, Our Lady says:
March 25, 1990
“…God wants to save you and sends you messages through men, nature, and so many things which can only help you to understand that you must change the direction of your life…”
